Do I need an amateur radio licence to join NARC?
No. Licensed operators, shortwave listeners (SWL), students, and anyone curious about radio can join. Members preparing for a licence get help and mentoring from experienced operators.
How do I get an amateur radio licence in Nepal?
Amateur licences in Nepal carry a 9N callsign prefix and are issued by the Government of Nepal after an examination. NARC runs training sessions that cover the theory, regulations, and operating practice you need.
How long does membership approval take?
Applications are reviewed by club administrators, usually within a few days. You can sign in and set up your station profile while your application is pending.
What does NARC do in emergencies?
Members train to set up portable stations and pass messages when normal networks are unavailable, and coordinate with communities and partner institutions during exercises and real events.
Which bands and modes do members use?
Members are active on HF, VHF, and UHF, using voice, CW, and digital modes such as FT8 and APRS, as well as SDR receivers and amateur satellites.
